I'm currently a member of Professional Photographers of America, the largest non-profit association for professional photographers in the world.

The Clients

My work has been used by numerous organizations and people for various reasons. My photos made up the bulk of the Fueled By Ramen Records Fall / Winter 2007 merchandise catalog. My photos have appeared on the front page of CollegeFootballPoll.com, the top independent college football website in the world. I've done press and concert photographs for numerous bands including Jinxed, The Juliana Theory, The Letter Kills, The Spill Canvas, and Stepanian.

The Awards

My photography was recognized when I received the US Civil Air Patrol Florida Wing Public Affairs Officer of the Year award in 2006. I was the winner of the 2004 Proteus Review photography contest, and one of my photos was selected by Earth Shots for their worldwide daily photo contest in August of 2007.

The Other Passion

On the side of my normal day job I run a website called myDailyPhoto where I post a picture every day. A bunch of other amazing photographers have also joined in and it's an incredibly inspiring and rewarding community to be a part of. You can find my photos at mydailyphoto.com/matthew.

You gave me a flyer / business card / phone number. Why?

If you're a girl, it's probably because you're drop-dead gorgeous. If you're a guy, it's probably because you embody what the world thinks is handsome. This means that, should you be interested, I'd like to spend some time with you and a camera. If I gave you a flyer or whatever, consider it a TFCD offer (I don't want your money).

Are you available for photo shoots?

As of the moment I'm writing this, yes, I am. This may change on a daily basis, though, so please shoot me off an e-mail and check.

Do you do commercial shoots / time-for-CD (TFCD)?

Yes and yes. I am very flexible with forms of payment. I still have a great passion for photography and, on occassion, I still do free photo shoots. I do require model releases for free shoots, though. See the next item for more info on that.

Do you require model releases?

This depends on the type of shoot. If I'm being compensated for my time then the terms of the contract will be negotiated at the appropriate time, and I'll do my best to make sure that the contract is fair to both parties. If I'm not being compensated I'll usually require the model to sign a release form giving me complete ownership of my work.

Do you have a portfolio I can look at / show our marketing director?

You're looking at it. The days of print portfolios, in my opinion, are long gone.

Do you shoot digital or film? / What type of gear do you have?

I currently own a DSLR. I no longer shoot film due to rising production costs, and because I'm incredibly impatient and want to see the results immediately. As for the rest of my gear, it's constantly changing, but check the 'the photographer' section for a current list. Should you need special equipment for a photo shoot I'm being considered for just send me an e-mail to see if I can obtain (either temporarily or permanently) the required items.

Do you shoot [ insert photography genre here ]?

Yes, mostly. I've got an extensive background as an amateur photojournalist, have a passion for sports photography, and am extremely comfortable dealing with models. Though I must say, I have not (and will not) shoot pornographic material.

Can I use your photos?

Only if you gain my permission. Any use of my photography without my express consent is, thanks to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act and intellectual property, against the law.
